When you wish upon a falling star, er, UFO…

Young widow Kevanne Girardi catches sight of a meteorite streaking across the sky and wishes for a good handyman to help make her rundown lavender farm a big success. Instead, she gets a shapeshifting alien who apparently has never seen a leaky faucet before. But his loving and noble spirit make him just the man to fix her wounded heart. He hasn’t promised her forever, but a girl can hope, can’t she? Maybe she’ll make another wish…

When his ship tumbles out of the sky and lands on Earth, Chameleon never expects to fall for a human woman. Unfortunately, he can’t stay. He made a mistake that led to the devastation of an entire planet, and now the survivors are depending on him to get them to safety. He must repair his ship and leave before the Xeno Consortium finds him and Earth becomes endangered, too. But oh, he wishes he could stay with Kevanne forever…

Can a twist of fate make their wishes come true?

Chameleon is book one in the brand new series, Alien Castaways, by Cara Bristol. This is a spin off from her Intergalactic Dating Agency series but you do not need to have read it previously enjoy to this.

lavender farm - Google Search

Kevanne Girardi is a thirty six year old widow who is starting out fresh in life fulfilling a dream of owning her own lavender farm. But perhaps the farm in her dreams wasn’t quite as run down and in need of repairs as the one she purchased in the tiny town of Argent, Idaho. She needs help so she puts up a flier asking for a handy man. Someone answered her request, but he most definitely wasn’t what she expected.

ufo in the woods - Google Search

Chameleon lived on the far away planet, Xeno. A planet that reveled in the power to not only create life on other planets, but to obliterate it as well. Cam tried to stop their plans but couldn’t. He escaped with a hodgepodge of other aliens but their ship was damaged. Forced to land on Earth to try to repair the damage, Cam meets the beautiful girl who smells like lavender and can’t stay away. His time on Earth is limited. As soon as the ship is repaired, they have to go. Can he give in to his desires and enjoy the time they have or will their bond become too strong and make leaving impossible?

“No judgment. No strings. No commitments. Just an alien with benefits.”

ufo in the woods - Google Search

Cam and Kevanne share a chemistry she has never experienced and somehow he is able to heal years of pain she endured during her marriage. He might not be the best handy man but he is everything she could ever have wanted.

“I never dared to even dream about somebody like you.”

I can’t help but to love these. They’re fun, sexy, angst free, and always make me feel happy. Each one of Cam’s ship mates is a different type of being and I can’t wait to see what is in store for them on earth.

Can a Xeno High Counselor escape his past and live safely with his genmate? Or will the consortium chase them out of their safe haven? Cam and Kevanne have an interesting story. From destroyed alien planets to down to Earth lavender farms. It's the first of a new series by the author and I can't wait to read the next book.

If you have read the book description, you get an idea of what to expect. This is going to be a Fantastic series! Book One, Chameleon, is a super sweet, steamy romance between Cam, an alien castaway from the Xeno Consortium's High Council and Kevanne, a pretty widowed human. Cam feels responsible for the deaths of millions and Kevanne is just recovering confidence and self esteem following the death of an abusive husband. They are adorable together, with lots of secrets and fears to overcome! The plot is amazing, and as Cam is with five other male aliens from the destroyed planet of 'Topia, sets the background for the future books of the series. This writer is a true gem and this is yet another great book from her! I can't wait for Book 2, as this will be Wingman's story. He is one of the five other castaways, and has some serious trust issues! I already love him...I like the broody types that are highly protective of those they love. You can read each book alone, but I suggest that you read in order to enjoy the whole story!

I love books where the action starts at the beginning! Not only that, the author is able to infuse some humour into a serious situation. It’s amazing the way she develops the two main characters, each having a troubled past making them stronger and perfect for each other. I thought I had things figured out, but the ending was not what I was expecting.

The Intergalactic Dating Agency series is huge, with several authors. This new mini-series holds promise, and this first entry is a good (but not great) start. There are some clever bits (the Marlboro man!), but other aspects are overly simplified and problems are solved off-screen. The sex is good, but this author has written hotter scenes. The feisty female goes for what she wants.

This book has the reasonable guy on the team; the next one has the ornery one. It may be worth reading, someday...

The cover model is misleading since Cameleon is blue, not purple. I wish he looked more like himself.

Nothing too impressive here, lukewarm chemistry, both MCs feeling too much guilt over stuff that was not their fault.

The alien names are a little too "on the nose". I mean, Wingman...come on.

An endangered ship of alien refugees is forced to land on an earth and all are looking for a second chance. None so much as Chameleon who bears so much guilt. Cara Bristol knows how to write an effervescent alien romance full of fascinating aliens and their situations and the engaging humans who fall for them. I couldn't wait to dive into this first in series.

Chameleon starts with a damaged ship attempting escape the powerful Xenos and the devastation that was wrought to their world, Tophia. One is from the dreaded race that attacked and decimated the planet. Chameleon knows he has a lot to answer for if only he can convince the others that he is on their side and was trying to help them against what his people had done. He leads them to the less developed planet, Earth, which is the closest inhabitable world where they can set down and maybe get their ship repaired so they can go help rescue other Topian refugees from getting caught by the Xenos. If he can see to more being rescued maybe it will take away some of the guilt and failure pressing down on him.
First contact is with a suspicious yet kind human woman who needs all sorts of help with her rundown lavender farm. An unlikely friendship and an attraction forms. He has to leave and he has secrets he can never share with her. But, he would like to stay and he would like to know her better.

Kevanne is off men after her abuser husband passes away and she is finally free. She chucks her old life and, on a whim, buys a second rate lavender farm because she has always loved lavender and the products made from it. The place needs so many repairs and she needs help farming. She needs a man- erm, a handyman. The odd male who pops up isn't exactly handy, but she can't turn him away after making a strong empathetic connection when he admits he didn't like his old self and is starting fresh. His secrets turn out to be doozies and they might just be too much for her to handle.

Chameleon has the job of introducing a new series and starting the first pairing up for a band of alien castaways. I thought the author did great launching an exciting opening sequence, a funny and memorable first meeting of the romance pair, and then a well-paced development of the series world, the cast of characters, the main characters, and the sizzling romance.

While creating a strong alien world, the author also creates a strong personal story. Kevanne is an abuse survivor and Chameleon struggles with the guilt of not doing enough to save another race. It's poignant and draws the reader in. I can't wait to get the stories of the other castaway aliens who are all ethnically diverse though from the same world.

Great start and I can't recommend it enough. Chameleon is loosely connected the Intergalactic Dating Agency world, but is its own independent series. Must-read for sci-fi romance lovers.

My thanks to the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

What an interesting and fun story. I enjoyed reading it so much. The premise is unique and creative. The characters really make you care about them. Chameleon’s character is just the most unique character I have read in a long time. Actually all the aliens on the ship are unique. The relationship between Chameleon and Kevanne is sweet and hot. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Cara Bristol is an author I haven't read before, but will be looking for more of her books.
I loved Kevanne's story. How she met Chameleon. Will they find a life together? Will fate work against them? Well, the story is to be read. I say no more. Loved the characters, loved the plot. Going hunting for more by Cara.

Alien experiments, Alien refugees seeking sanctuary, a possible spy, miscellaneous small town adventures, and a sweet hero with the naivety of being new to Earth and a human female who needs an injection of love into her lonely life. What a great new series!

Chameleon went against his own people to do the right thing. He still feels insurmountable guilt that he wasn't able to do enough. Some of his "shipmates" don't trust him and think he's still a spy for the Xeno Consortium.

On the hunt for a way to make some money and attempt to buy and/or replicate parts Chameleon meets Kevanne. He later realises that she is the person looking for a handyman and decides to go and get the job, frightening the life out of her in the process! But Kevanne has secrets of her own that she feels tremendous guilt over. She soon realises that Cam may be a "man" but he's not all that handy, though he does attempt everything with a sense of hopefulness.

Great little story. I loved finding out Cam's backstory and what Kevanne has been trough. You know they belong together from the start but it still a nicely woven story with engaging and empathetic characters. It's great that Cam isn't universally loved, so he has to work hard to gain ground with the 'Topians.

Chameleon and the passengers of the Castaway are on the run from the Xeno Consortium when they crash land on Earth. The plan is to repair the Castaway, then leave Earth for a safe planet where they can all make their home. What happens when Cam meets the beautiful human Kevanne and starts falling for her?

Chameleon is a fun, sweet and steamy story full of quirky but likeable characters. I can't wait to read Wingman's story in Book 2 of the Alien Castaways series.

A good start for a new series with a fascinating new group of aliens. We get a new group escaping from a devastated planet to end up of course on earth. Each alien has a different talent. And the Intergalactic Dating Agency gets a mention. Next up Wingman is already looking like another great read, to see how the "Angel" man will fair on earth after saving a little girl. I'm really looking forward to continuing with this series to see what happens with the crew.

Great introduction a new series. Kevanne and Chameleon are both interesting characters. Kevanne sees a falling star and Chameleon is in the ship that looks like a falling star. There are plenty of mix-ups as the two meet at the local diner as when chameleon applies to be her handyman. In the end both have to trust in what they find in the other. A surprise ending and a set up for the rest of the individuals on the ship to find their HEA.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Fantastic sci-fi romance!

Chameleon is the first in a new series of alien castaways that crash on Earth and find human female mates. The story started off with action and kept a steady pace from start to finish. The romance between Chameleon and Kevanne was sweet, spicy, and altogether perfect! Loved their interactions and slow build. The passion was HOT. The writing was flawless and the characters given plenty of depth as well as emotion.

Loved this book! Can't wait to read about the rest of the alien crew!

CAN A TWIST OF FATE MAKE THEIR WISHES COME TRUE?

The story is a spin-off of Ms. Cara Bristol’s Intergalactic Dating Agency series, with a fun new twist. The mention of IDA will play a role in the story, but not be directly involved. From a twisted tale of control, an escape from a planet being destroyed, and a spacecraft named Castaway with a menagerie of inhabitants and landing on Earth—this tale will have the unique characteristics that Ms. Bristol is talented for spinning in her adventures.

Chameleon is a member of the high council with a conscience for others, especially the Topians. When he learns that the planet and its inhabitants are going to be destroyed, he tries to save as many as he can. Those who he lead to Castaway are Tigre, Psy, Wingman, Shadow, and Inferno (all to have their own story later.) Escaping isn’t easy, and risky maneuver will bring them near the Milky Way, and they must land on Earth and attempt repairs on the ship.

“Plot a course for Earth. Let’s take the chance we can get the Castaway repaired, and then we’ll locate the other refugees and lead them to a safe planet where we can all make our home.”

Widow Kevanne Girardi is a survivor after a ten years marriage to an abuser. She never plans to become involved with a man after the horrors she has endured. The only saving grace was a life insurance policy that allows her to relocate and buy Lavender Bliss Farm.

The plot will have Chameleon doing all he can, with limited time and helping a rag-tag group escape imminent death, but in the process, he is viewed as the enemy and not trusted. Landing on Earth will allow Chameleon to change his looks to imitate humans, and that will be how he will meet and befriend Kevanne. Every time he is around her, his altered persona will be challenged, and his blue hue will spot through. The crew news money and a source to repair their ship, and Chameleon, who Kevanne thinks is Cam Leon, will give him a chance as a handyman.

“I’m a work in progress.”

The story is full of humor, angst, and a touch of romance as Kevanne and Chameleon get to know each other. His lack of knowledge as a handyman leads to several mishaps, but she is forgiving. But what will happen when she learns he is alien? How will she react? It’s hard enough with some of the Topian crew members doubting him, but there is something about Kevanne that calls to Chameleon—could she indeed be his gemmate? Could fate be so cruel with them here on Earth only long enough for repairs? The Consortium is hunting them, and they can’t risk Earth’s inhabitants.

“Stop blaming yourself. Let go of the guilt. Let yourself heal.”

This is a fantastic start to a wonderful new Sci-Fi series “Alien Castaways” (which is loosely connected to the very popular “Intergalactic Dating Agency” series) & I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The well-developed plot is very intriguing & has excellent world building with well-described scenes & the action virtually starts within the first few pages which had me frantically turning pages to find out what was happening next. The characters are all individually unique with realistic flaws & the two main characters (Chameleon, an alien with the ability to shift into another being or blend in with the surrounding areas) & (Kevanne, a human female, who is a widow & survivor of an abusive marriage) have great chemistry between them while trying to overcome their devastating pasts.
There is: various kinds of aliens, a conniving Xeno Consortium with murderous intentions, a damaged spaceship, fated mates/genmates, adventure, action, secrets, mystery, humor, suspense, intrigue, twists & turns, drama, danger, threats, enemies, distrust, verbal conflict, self-esteem issues, memories, unlikely friendships, attractions, doubts, discovery, accusations, misunderstandings, explanations, paradox time-lines, steamy scenes, contentment, love & a hard-earned, well-deserved satisfying conclusion. I look forward to future books in this series with great anticipation & would recommend this book.

Aliens on earth. Oh, yeah. That's one of the scenarios I like in my sci-fi romance and so Chameleon and Kevanne hit the spot.

So. Even though the IDA is active on earth, aliens are still sort of in the closet. Chameleon and the rest of the crew who crash land wisely decide to play it safe and keep a low profile. Sure, sure, Chameleon sort of lets it slip to Kevanne that's he's not human, but OTHER THAN THAT they lay low. Admittedly, Kevanne didn't react all that well to Chameleon's big reveal. But they worked through that little oopsie and ended up finding a WHOLE LOT of happiness. And by that, I mean they fell into bed.

Because who doesn't like a big, cuddly alien with a tail, amirite?!?!

We have refugee aliens and planet ending bad guys, a bootstrapping business woman and the shapeshifting alien who loves her. Chameleon and Kevanne might have taken a few missteps with one another, but they figure things out and find their happy place. *thumbs up*

I enjoyed reading this book. It’s a fated mates, happy ever after with some steamy scenes. Kevanne is a widow, starting over in a new place, she’s trying but the house she’s in needs some repairs that she can’t do. She wishes for a handyman, and one falls into her life, he’s gorgeous but slightly weird and has random paint splotches appear on his body randomly. Chameleon is trying to save the inhabitants of a planet that was destroyed by his species. In order to do that he needs to get the ship up and running, and fast, before they are found. He never imagined he would find his mate on a backwater planet like earth. He knows he can’t stay with her, he’d be putting not only Kevanne at risk but the whole of Earth.

Chameleon was a prisoner. Well he was captured but the crew of the Castaway believing him to be. But he he was part of the consortium. He was helping all the Topia flee before their world was no more. He had to convince the crew but there was something more pressing. Their ship needed repairs and the only place to do that was Earth. They needed to act fast to find all those that were launched to save Shadow, a Vaporian. He never expected to find someone that was prefect for him. Kevanne had a horrible marriage and now is starting a new. She needs to get her Lavender Farm up and running to make some money. The farm needs a lot of work but a big alien that isn’t use to Earth or what a handyman is, can be difficult.
You have to love that Cam is such a teddy bear. He may be an alien but he has a heart. Kev had to fit her past and learn to trust again. Yeah he is an alien but he still is hot. These aliens all have a genmate and Kev is his but they need to find the refugees. What a tough call. We have a crew that is so diverse: Shadow, Tigre, Wingman, Psy, and Inferno. I know we will meet each but boy do are they a group. These is a lot of hurt and love, plus there is a bit of a surprise twist. Kind of interesting. Got a taste of the next book, Wingman. I can’t wait to read what happens to Mr. Grumpy.

Cam aka Chameleon is a shifter of sorts. He and five other members of the crew landed on earth. Needing money to attempt to repair certain parts of the ship called the Castaway. Kavann (Kevin) needed a handyman to help with her newly purchased lavender farm. She gired him knowing that he knew about the trade of being handy. Thankful the internet and videos helped these two. Complete the list of things to fix. Attempting to maintain his human form when around her especially when his coloration changed when around her. Animosity is in the body because of being accused of being a trader. Funny when aliens are getting used to other alien words and worlds. Enjoyable read.

Who do you want to be today?
I love the idea of a chameleon: able to change into another being if you’ve seen it before, or just to blend in with your surroundings. This is just one of the fascinating crew in the first book of the “Alien Castaways” series. I love this story! Cam is a hero who doesn’t consider himself to be one. Kevanne is a woman on her own, getting her life back in order. She’s strong, resilient, and has come a long way in a short time, after having her confidence whittled away for years.
I can’t wait for you to read their story: the history, current events, the newfound love...it’s awesome!

I really liked Cam and Kevanne, and am glad they were able to quickly work out their differences. The plot was interesting, and I loved the idea that a certain wealthy man frequently in the news might not be from Earth at all. Acceptance, trust, forgiveness, guilt, self-compassion, domestic violence, friendship, teamwork, destiny, new beginnings, hope, and love were some of the underlying themes in this sweet and steamy romance.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

This is a great story! I love reading anything by Cara Bristol. I enjoyed the interactions between Kevanne and Chameleon.

Chameleon is a Xeno who chose to go against his people. He tried to save as many 'Topia citizens before the Xenos destroy the planet. He is part of a group of castaways who have made their way to Earth. Kevanne is determined to make a go at a Lavender Farm. She hasn't had a great life but she is working through it. She meets Chameleon when he disguised himself as a human. He needs to make money to buy supplies for repairs to the ship. But he has a hard time of keeping his disguised around her. There is something about her that draws him. Will they realize that they are mates and have a chance at happiness?

More fun aliens!

Broken hearts and a broken escape ship leads aliens to earth. Cam feels responsible for not being able to save a planet from destruction by his species. Kevanne is rebuilding her self esteem after being battered by her late husband. They are attracted to each other but Cam must leave when the ship is repaired. Can they heal each other in the short time they have together?
I really liked this book and can’t wait for the next one!

You’re your own biggest critic
Blending into his environment is what this alien is good at, well until he meets his mate. The author started this new series off with a bang. I love how the characters are developing and the way they seem so real with their personalities and emotions. Both of these characters didn’t get what they expected from the past, but once they get past the pain they might just find the HEA they are destined for. I love the action and danger, the intensity of emotion, and the hope for the future for all of the crew mates. I can’t wait to read the next book and see who finds their mate next.

Chameleon was trying to save as many he could from Topian before the destruction of it. Learning they pushed the date earlier he was getting as many as he could. As his ship was the last they got boarded and left the galaxy ending up on Earth. Chameleon got a side job working for Kevanne. Once he learned he was good to be left alone. Now the group had help from Mysk that had several Vaporians so he new Tigre, Psy, Wingman and Inferno would be staying on Earth and Shadow might be able to find a mate, since he was different than the rest. Chameleon let Kevanne know what was transpiring and she was very happy with his decision.
