A contract with a devil…?

Gabriel Morgan never imagines his eighteenth birthday will end with the doors of his home being kicked in by gun-wielding thugs intent on stealing away his little sister as payment for his estranged father’s gambling debts. Pushed into an impossible corner, Gabriel is on the brink of doing something unspeakable when billionaire business mogul Darrien Stathos steps into the fray and announces a contract that nullifies all other claims—for Gabriel. Only too willing to be the sacrificial martyr to save his family, the cost of surrendering himself to Darrien, however, may be more than Gabriel bargains for.

Demon, alien, vampire, or just a plain human monster rumored to be the international crime lord known as Kairos, Gabriel has heard all whispered about this handsome, yet intimidating, savior. Whispers he is starting to fear are true when he witnesses a few disturbing incidents involving Darrien that cannot be rationally explained. Add to that the constant harassment of a couple of FBI agents intent on unearthing damning evidence that will prove that the crime lord, Kairos, is Darrien’s true face, as well as an assassination attempt on Darrien, and Gabriel starts to think that maybe sharing Darrien’s bed is the least daunting thing he will have to face.

Who is Darrien really, and why is he so interested in an ordinary guy like Gabriel, a guy just struggling to help his family make ends meet like millions of others? Gabriel isn’t sure he wants to know the answer, but when has the universe ever given him anything other than the finger?

This is a m/m reimagining of the urban fantasy/paranormal romance story previously published as The Supreme Moment. It contains several scorching-hot scenes and mature language with a HFN plot resolution.

Wow.

Seriously wow. I am always hesitant when one of the MCs is so young, especially in a "romance" because no matter how hard the author tries it always has a YA aftertaste. Not so with this gem!

This book was complex and original and while Gabriel's youth was evident in his reactions there was a lot of character growth too.

Its really impossible to get too far into this without giving up any spoilers. The world building was fascinating and the characters were fabulous. Even if you could kind of guess what was going to happen you still somehow get surprised. Especially the end. Holy cow. I love when there are real consequences to the plot and everything isn't just magically fixed when plot goes down.

Seriously canNOT wait for more from this series! This author wove an amazing tapestry and I want more DESPERATELY. Truly fantastic work!

It’s unbelievable how good this book was. I couldn’t put it down even if I wanted to because I was completely engrossed.

This story, is hands down, one of a kind; I’ve never read anything quite like it.

The mystery surrounding Darrian left me making my guesses as to what he was. Was I right? Hell no! My guess was way out - my jaw literally dropped when everything was revealed.

I was on edge towards the end; I was holding my breath as events unfolded. It was one of those moments where things could have gone either way. My eyes couldn’t read fast enough. Was the end result what I expected? Hell no! I was surprised and a little thrown off with how things went down.

I eagerly looking forward to the next book.

The Best

This is the best story I’ve read in a long time! It was interesting from the first page. It never quite goes where you expect it to. That bit of surprise keeps you reading. The ending, was amazing.

**First Time Reader** Ok...I really did enjoy the first half of the book. I was feeling good about the story....I was getting into the story/plot but then it start going down hill once Darrien told Gabriel his secret. Now going into the book I knew it had some paranormal elements but after the secret got out it was way too much stuff going on. I guess I was looking for more romance with the action but it was more like watching a science fiction movie with a couple of forced steamy scenes thrown in. No real chemistry (in my opinion) between Darrien and Gabriel...so depressing. I forced myself to finish the book just to see the out come and it was...meh. I see it's suppose to be a book 2 and I don't think I'm interested enough to follow through. I didn't exactly hate it but I wished I liked it more.

This book was like nothing I have ever read before. When I read the blurb I was intrigued so I figured I would try and see. And I do have to say it is a super intense book. It’s a lot to take in as well. The author has to explain a lot of this world and worlds beyond. It’s not just a romance but really just a sci-fi, mystery style book. The relationship of Darrien and Gabriel is the main focus but the story is a huge part. You can’t just half read this book or skim through it cause you will miss a lot if you do. All that being said I’m pretty hooked on this series and I can’t wait for book 2. This book is left on a HFN rather than a HEA. So I’m excited to see what is next for us and Thai crazy world.

This is my first book by C.G. Rayne and it definitely won't be my last. Lord of Time starts with meeting Gabriel Morgan and friends. Almost immediately the action starts and you meet Kairos who terrifies the Morgan family even when he's trying to help them. As the story goes on you see the evolution of their relationship starting with Gabriel thinking he had been "bought" by Kairos because of his Father's debts. The romance and sex proceed naturally and doesn't feel forced. There were surprises and done beautifully so they didn't come off as predictable or cliche. I for one can't wait for book 2, I need to see how things play out after the exciting events at the end

This book is incredible. A mix of science fiction, m/m romance, fantasy, adventure, and coming of age story it really enveloped me and took my mind on an adventure. I was so intrigued by the premise but as I don’t wish to give anything away I won’t talk too much about that. I will just say that everything from the world building, the pacing, the dialogue, to the characters are all spot on. I recommend this book highly and can’t wait to read the next book.

New to me author and this is one heck of a read!
An excellent supernatural book. For the first edition to the series, there is so much to keep the reader invested.
The MCs worked well one another. Their stories did not seem forced at all.

Gabriel Morgan is an 18 year old character who ends up in an impossible situation. Darrien Stathos, an unexpected savior, swoops in ans clears the debts for Gabriel. All too willing to be a sacrificial lamb for the sake of his family, owing a man like Darrien may prove to me more than Gabriel is willing to stake the gracious gift for.

Thee are many questions that require straight answers. is anyone ready for the outcome?

Didn't like the ending.

I enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first considering the circumstances that brought the main characters together, and the age of one, but I rolled with it. Elements of the story were very imaginative, there were nice plot twists, but the twist at the end kind of left me hanging. Not quite a cliffhanger but I seriously hope the next book in the series is more of Darrien and Gabriel's story because there is way more to explore with them.

A new favorite!!!

Holy Cow was this an amazing book. I could not put it down for a second. I didn’t see any reviews and almost skipped but so glad I clicked and downloaded it to my kindle. I can’t wait for the second book. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a MM gay fantasy supernatural romance that I couldn’t put down. Not going to give away any details because I personally don’t like to see spoils in the reviews. But you won’t be disappointed...

I had to stop. The feelings i got from this book and this Darrien character were bad. Yes he appears nice and bought Gabriel everything, but he still acted like a predator. Gabriel wasnt in love. And for Darrien he appears to be just the new lover. So the missing feelings and the way Gabriel feels forced to accept Darriens advances after a couple of hours or day... i got goosebumps. This was like a hidden horrorstory. I couldnt continue

This was a fantastic start to a new m/m series! Loved the world building. Very original. Also loved the tension between Gabriel and Darrien and the way their relationship progressed throughout the whole book. And that ending! No spoilers, but it wasn't at all what I'd been expecting. It left me salivating for book 2! I recommend for those who like complicated (though passionate) relationships and detailed world building in their paranormal romance stories.

This is a very unique, creative, intriguing, interesting story. I really enjoyed the story/plot, but I can't really say much about it that isn't in the descriptive blurb without spoilers. I'll just say the characters are great, and the story really pulled me in. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

As soon as I read the first page, I was captivated. I just couldn't put it down. I had to read all nearly 500 pages in one sitting. Wonderful and realistic characters. Fast paced plot. Excellent story arc! Can't wait for book 2 and more from this author.

Okay if you like rape scenes

I've been reading romances for over fifty five years, and I still can't stomach rape to romance themes. This alien bought an 18 year old boy from his gambler father and the author turned it into some sick romance. This is not okay by any stretch of the imagination. The author should be ashamed of herself. The plot otherwise was okay, but this theme should not be encouraged.

Ok

This was well written and thought out but I just couldn't get into it. Main character was too "poor little me" and it took me a while to figure out the romantic interest.

I wanted to read this title because I like things related to the paranormal and MM romances. Besides, when you see a title like "Lord of Time" it intrigues you even more and makes you think of "Doctor Who". Here, we are far from this universe.

I enjoyed this book for about forty percent. Afterwards, I felt like I was reading a paranormal-infused parallel universe class plus a few sex scenes posed there. It did not alleviate my growing boredom.

I still forced myself to finish the book to see if the tone would change, but no.

At the beginning, the characters interested me but the more I discovered them, the less I liked them except two or three. Darrien, I easily understood his reactions as Gabriel made me wondering over some of his decisions. Especially the one involving his friends.

I do not intend to continue this series. Scientific explanations are too long and boring. Romance almost non-existent. The ending didn't surprise me at all because I was expecting something like that.

I did not know the author who uses two pen names. I'm still going to try one of her other books under her other name to see if her style is more fluid and pleasant.
