An interesting twist on Lucifer as he is known to most. The author takes this character to a whole new level by having him fall in love with a sweet lovable young woman who has the gift of sight. It was a creative tale that was an enjoyable read.

I am a huge fan of Matilda Martel’s InstaLove novella length reads and one-click her books.
Lucifer is her latest and it’s still classic Matilda, with a paranormal twist, and I gotta say that it’s quite the treat!
Satan takes the form of a sexy, suit wearing man named Lucifer/Luca. He is cold and calculating and totally indifferent, until her.
Livia is young, beautiful. She is a descendent of the angels with the gift of sight. She see’s things that normal people do not see and lives her life accordingly. Everything proceeds as it should, until him.
Neither one is looking for the other but their paths were destined to cross. Lucifer/Luca has no control over his feelings for her and acts completely and totally out of character in her presence. For her part, Livia is attracted to the man and tries and fails to ignore it.
Their union is beautiful but not meant to be as forces far greater work to keep them apart - or do they? Behold the mother of all plot twists (here lies the beauty of this love story)!

What an amazing story I loved all of it and the thought that Lucifer could fall in love with a mortal woman who can see angels, guardians and demons was amazing. Livia can see angels her grandmother said that it runs through the family it made her father nearly insane so he ended his life, Livia can also read minds and she knows when someone has a black soul the ones that commit murder. Livia works for the Holy See she is being followed by a murderer and before he has a chance to plunge his knife into her heart Lucifer intervenes he’s not meant to but he’s made his mind up because that girl is his. Amazing story and I can’t wait to read book 2 and I definitely recommend this book.

It was the cover and the name "Lucifer" that caught my attention. The summary is tempting so I did not think long before applying to the ARC.
We dive directly into a world where angels are very present but humans are not supposed to see them. The duality between good and evil is well brought about.
The beginning made me giggle because I really liked it. It's my demonic side that stands out (Lol).
The characters are very endearing. I adored Lucifer most of the time except towards the end when I took pity on him. Lucia who initially looks strong seems more fragile later.
It was a delightful story from start to finish. It's a short but exciting format. You will not be bored.
I am delighted to have been able to discover the pen of Matilda Martel. She has other titles to her credit that you can find on her website

What a different take on Lucifer! A bit on the dark side, but a wonderful story line. With plenty of action, adventure, and intrigue, plus some intense chemistry along with emotional attachment, Lucifer and Livia are sure to capture your heart. And there's a reveal at the end, no spoilers, that is not to be missed! I'm very much looking forward to what comes next. Any fan of PNR is sure to like this book. Happy Reading!

Oh my heart! I loved reading Lucifer by Matilda Martel because it was such a fantastic book about Livia and Lucifer. I loved reading this story because it was such a good story and offered a different perspective on Lucifer falling in love with Livia who had a gift of seeing. Lucifer wanted to redeem himself and when he saw Livia, things changed for him. Things also changed for Livia. I can't say enough good things about this story. I loved it and I highly recommend reading it. Fantastic book!!

Lucifer falls in love. Hell has frozen over. He gives himself to the human woman. He begins to understand how God feels towards humans. Great story with a couple hot steamy passionate scenes. Now I have another author to follow. Have to read more of this author. Received ARC copy of this book from booksprout and this is my honest opinion.

Finding love in the darkness
This book was absolutely my pleasure to read! There wasn’t a moment that I didn’t enjoy. Everything about this book was something to fall in love with! Lucifer and Livia were meant for each other in ways that neither of them could have ever imagined. After centuries of being shrouded in darkness, Lucifer sees a light that calls out to every part of his being. That light is the pure and Angel seeing Livia. She radiates a goodness that he wants to surround himself with without destroying.
These characters were absolutely fantastic. Their development and personalities were gripping and soulful. I mean seriously, would you expect to fall in love with Lucifer? I didn’t expect it but I definitely fell for him! He finally learns what it means to love and to be selfless. But it might just cost him everything. Livia was a truly interesting character. With the ability to see angels and sense evil in humans, she uses that ability to aid in the process of approving new saints. I thought this was a unique storyline and incredibly interesting as well.
There are steamy scenes in this book and while it’s a little bit of a slow burn to get there it is absolutely worth the wait. Lucifer struggles with his desire for Livia which battles with his desire to allow her to keep her light and not lose her place in heaven. He takes his time to show her he will be worthy of her love and when the timing is perfect, their heat is completely breathtaking. I loved the inclusion of his powers and wings. The way that fire and water were used to build anticipation and desire was outstanding.
The ending of this story had me in tears before giving me the HEA that I yearned to read about this couple. After everything they truly deserve to have each other and to be happy. I didn’t expect the way that it would play out or the heartbreak I would feel for them, but it was written so beautifully that I’m glad for it. This book is a MUST READ and will be a re-read for me for years to come.

SIMPLY DELIGHTFUL. This story between Lucifer and Livia tickled me pink. I've read several fallen angel romances, but this one was just so fun. Lucifer's deadpan humor and Livia's inner ramblings as she realizes she's thinking lustful thoughts of Lucifer cracked me up. Livia has the gift of seeing angels, so Lucifer cannot believe it when she can truly see him. In that same vein, Livia's unaccustomed to anyone reading her thoughts (including angels) so when she lets her guard down & realizes Lucifer can not only sense what she's thinking but can also answer her unspoken thoughts, some of their interactions are comedy gold. As they go to instalove in .001 seconds, it was a quick, steamy, laugh-out-loud read for this reviewer. If you're looking for something light with a few poignant moments, you can't go wrong with their story! I loved them! :)

Together they are a wonderful couple and their story is a captivating read that makes you realize every angel needs a little devil in her to really have some fun.

Lucifer/Luca and Livia's story is a dark and unique romance with a paranormal twist that made this a page turning read for me. I loved the way the author brought them together and how he was torn between his love for Livia and getting redemption. This paranormal romance had me cheering Lucifer to get his happily ever after and I never thought I would ever be doing that. The writing is well done, the characters are interesting, and the story is packed with drama, demons and angels, passion, romance, redemption, and unexpected twists that had me reading nonstop until the final page. Lucifer is book one and a great start to the Fallen Angels series. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Completely and totally awesome!! The dynamics between Lucifer (Luca) and Livia were superb and I really liked the originality of the storyline. I am really interested in seeing how the next books have the underlying storyline continue to evolve and just what characters the author will incorporate into it since this was only book number one of what I certainly hope will become a captivating series! Make the time to read this if you are a fan of PNR!!

I read this for a review team I'm on. I will say paranormal isn't my normal go to. But have read some but angels is something I have never read before. It was new for me but I went in open minded and interested.
Sadly, overall this fell short for me. I couldn't keep all the characters straight and felt like new characters kept popping up but didn't understand their need. Plot lines for their meeting finished without much explanation. I felt like I had to infer a bit of what was happening. The end was sweet though. But getting there was rough.

A beautiful love story
Loved this book. Lucifer learns the true meaning of love and sacrifice after thousands of years when he meets his one true love, Livia. All he’s ever wanted is redemption but will he put aside his wants and needs for the greater good? Or will he prioritise his happiness above that of the woman he loves? A wonderful reimagining of Lucifer’s story from the talented Matilda Martel.

An awesome and interesting story. I really liked Livia’s character and her interaction with Lucifer was wonderful. Lucifer becomes obsessed with Livia and wants to become better. Lucifer was a fallen Angel, he falls in love with a human Livia. Livia has the gift of sight and can see him. He loves her but knows he can’t be with her. When he intervenes in fate to save her life things change. He will do anything to keep her safe including sacrificing himself. Hot, steamy, a little dark and dangerous, amazing chemistry, twists and turns and a wonderful HEA.

I am a HUGE Matilda Martel fan and I will be honest, I've passed over this book many times as I'm not a huge fan of this genre... That being said I really enjoyed it, I loved Livia and how her character came alive. The same could be said for Lucifer... There is so much to unpack in this roller coaster of a story... An interesting and great read!
With a paranormal twist, I enjoyed this short story enormously. I love the sexy form that Satan/Lucifer took in a man named Luca. Lucifer falls in love with beautiful, sweet human Livia, who descend from the angels, and here things get complicated. There is passion, romance, sexiness, the forces of good and evil, the church and more! Loved it!

This was a sweet and interesting story about fallen angels and how Lucifer fell for a woman that works for the Vatican. Livia can see angels like her ancestors too. When she meets Lucifer aka Luca, she instantly feels a connection, but will their love have a chance?? Sweet, romantic,with a bit steam and with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍

A fantastic and incredible version of our favorite devil! Sexy, unique and with a major WOW factor, this story was AWESOME! Its sometimes hard to find a good version of the devil and I honestly think this is one of my favorites. Lucifer was mysterious and amazing and I loved him and the story.
