ALEXIA RAINE NEEDS TO BE RESCUED BY A WEREWOLF.

Not just any werewolf either, but the top enforcer in the Bryant Pack. Which is why Neil Duran is pulled off a major case by his High Alpha to retrieve this unknown daughter of their most valuable member, or their entire wolf pack in the Pacific Northwest will lose all hard-won territory, shifting the balance of powers.

But convincing this feisty woman to come with him poses its own problems.

First, Alexia Raine never knew her real father.
Second, she doesn’t know that werewolves even exist.
Or that she herself might be one.
Or that their rival wolf pack will stop at nothing to acquire her for several unspeakable reasons.

Worse, she’s the most aggravating, infuriating, intoxicating woman he’s had the displeasure to rescue, and he may very well be falling in love with her.

ADDISON CARMICHAEL is a Paranormal Romance junkie. Love is a mystical, magical thing to her, and she loves writing and living vicariously through her endless PNR stories. Whether it be alpha male werewolves, fierce dragons, sexy panthers and other shifters, sizzling hot vampires, or illusive sorcerers who will magically make your dreams come true, her imagination is bubbling up several stories after another.

As a literature major, Addison also enjoys weaving classic themes into her books, yet keeping the fun and folklore true to each story and character. While paying strict attention to the tropes of each myth, she also finds unique ways to create new ones in order to make each story as fresh, realistic and plausible as possible.

Addison was born and raised in Southern California and has lived and traveled all over the west coast (and the world). She married the man of her dreams and has two awesome sons, two daughters-of-her-heart, and three grandchildren who are the jewels in her personal crown.

She now lives happily-ever-after with her family (which includes Mollie, her black lab-border collie) in Snohomish, Washington of the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

I was one of the fortunate ones who had the opportunity to read the ARC for this book and it was incredible. It was what I call a "Page turner". I really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful. It usually takes a while for me to read an ARC---kindle edition unless I'm really into it. I do recommend it. Please read this book and judge for yourself what you think. If I had to describe this book/ARC in one word it would be hard to do. It's not just a paranormal book but it's also romantic and suspenseful. Almost like a who done it but its not.
Thank You for the ARC Addison Carmichael.

Knight is the first full-length novel in Addison Carmichael’s new series Sons of the Alpha, which tells the love stories of the four sons of the high-alpha of the Bryant pack of wolf shifters. The author has created an intriguing world for her wolves. They live in a large compound that’s more like a small city in rural Washington state, where they mostly stay out of sight of humans. They also have a complex socio-political and economic structure that’s not unlike human ones. In fact, some of their beliefs, such as who is worthy of inclusion in the pack and who can marry whom, are pretty archaic, so I was glad to see the heroine trying to stir things up a bit. I hope to see some of these structures dismantled in future books of the series. Up to this point, the characters in most other were and shape-shifter books I’ve read are on the wild and earthy side, while most of the main characters in this story are pretty refined in their human forms, even though they can still be deadly in their wolf forms. This made for some interesting new mythology. There’s also a strong romantic suspense element with members of a rival pack trying to abduct our intrepid heroine, while our hero is investigating a string of serial killings involving shifters with special abilities. This part of the story has some unexpected twists and turns along the way, which kept me on my toes. I have to admit that I didn’t suspect the real bad guy, so this part was quite well-done. It all made for a fun, enjoyable, and slightly different kind of werewolf story.

Even though her life was disrupted by the mysterious, violent death of her ex-boyfriend, which ended with her being arrested, Alexia has been trying to live a quiet, normal life in San Diego. However, it hasn’t been easy. Her brush with the law caused her to lose her placement in medical school, so she’s been working for her uncle as a medical assistant. Ever since then, odd things have been happening around her, but so far she’s chalked them up to mere coincidence, while being completely unaware of her true heritage. That all changes one night when she’s stalked and nearly kidnapped by some rough-looking characters, two of whom turn into viciously lethal wolf-like beings. She’s rescued by a handsome stranger, who says he’s been sent to protect her and whisks her away to another state. Once at the were’s compound, Alexia’s world turns on its ear as she comes to realize that nearly everything about her life isn’t true. She’s actually descended from were-beings and her biological father is one of the most powerful wolves in the pack, possessing some extraordinary talents, but his former pack, the Talanovs, want her for themselves. Alexia thought she was an ordinary human girl, so it’s hard to wrap her head around it all at first, but I have to give her credit for generally taking things in stride. She’s a strong, feisty woman, who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and those she cares about and discovers some surprising new talents to assist her. She also has her handsome protector to help her learn the ropes of being a wolf.

Neil is the Level One Alpha Enforcer of the pack, which basically makes him the leader of law enforcement in their hierarchy. As such, he’s in charge of the investigation into who is killing special were-beings and why, but he’s abruptly pulled off his inquiry to go rescue a human young woman who is the biological daughter of one those very special and powerful wolves. Neil isn’t too happy about his new assignment at first, so he and Alexia tend to butt heads for a while. But once he gets her safely back to the compound, they gradually begin to get to know each other and develop a mutual attraction. However, he’s being aggressively pursued by an old flame with whom he’s tried to break things off and who is also engaged to the High Alpha’s son. This creates some drama and friction, but Neil comes to realize that Alexia is his true wolf-mate. Convincing her of that may be difficult, though. Neil is kind of the typical alpha werewolf. He’s a bit gruff at times, but he didn’t push my buttons like many alpha heroes do. I admired him for being a strong protector to his pack and to Alexia, and I enjoyed his softer moments, where he’s showing her care and kindness.

Overall, Knight was an enjoyable story. The world-building and suspense elements were top-notch. However, I thought the characterizations could have been a little stronger. There’s lots of fodder in both Neil’s and Alexia’s backstories to do a deep-dive on both of them, but most of the time, I felt like things stayed near the surface. I liked and admired both characters, but I didn’t get a strong sense of what made either of them tick, mainly because there isn’t a great deal of introspection to give me those types of insights. Perhaps because of this, I also didn’t feel like the romance was as palpable as I wanted it to be either. It’s there and it’s sweet, but there isn’t a lot of thought that goes into it. Usually in paranormal creatures like this their mate-bond makes it impossible for the two to be without one another and makes their connection pretty intense. There is the concept of a mate-bond in this story, in which both Neil’s and Alexia's wolves recognize the other as their true mate, but it seems to have little effect on their romantic trajectory. This was just a tad disappointing, especially when Alexia was still having a few doubts about Neil’s feelings for her in the final pages. Otherwise, I liked the story. It just happens to be a more plot-driven one than a character-driven one, which is usually my preference. However, I enjoyed it enough to be interested in reading the prequel, Beauty and Her Beast, which tells the story of Alexia’s parents, Erik and Rebecca, even though I know theirs doesn’t have an HEA ending, and also to continue the series. Jake, the oldest son of the High Alpha was an intriguing and rather charming character most of the time, so I think his book, Heir, which is the next in the series and due for release next month (May 2019), has potential.

Note: I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was one of the lucky people who got to read Addison Carmichael's new book, Knight:Sons of the Alpha as an ARC. I've been getting into Shifters for the last year. Before that, if anyone had suggested that I read anything paranormal, I would have laughed. I'm not laughing now. This is a great story, told by someone who has taken the time to make sure that the story she is telling is easy to read but has lots of depth.

I don't like to re-hash or retell a story in a review, because I really want other readers to come into the book "new" without any preconceived notions about it. I will say that the characters, beginning with Alexia, Neil, and Jake, the first characters you are introduced to when they rescue Alexia from certain danger, take shape over the course of the book. Addison writes her stories in such a way that the readers are always learning and discovering as they read. That "discovery" makes the story that much more interesting to me.

The story arc is well developed and honestly could have been convoluted and confusing, but again, in Addison's capable hands (and her word processing program, lol) it flows well and develops just fast enough for the reader to soak in all the nuances. And the character development follows the pacing of the story, which also makes it easy for the reader to absorb everything they need to. I LOVED the by-play between Neil and Alexia throughout the book. She thought he was insufferable and he thought she was the most difficult woman he'd ever met. It made for some great chemistry on the page, which added to the entire story.

This story was really interesting and a fun read! Thank you Addison for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC, and I have to say, you get better with every book!

How does this have such good reviews?

The people giving this book 5 stars need some better reading material for comparison. Read Suzanne Wright's books and the come back and review this one. However, if you are wanting PNR books with no sex, this may be one of the few choices. The most this couple does before fading to black is kiss.

I did not feel any chemistry between the H and h. They are both hot and cold with each other. I didn't particularly like either of them but especially didn't like her. I also really prefer first person point of view for romances. This one did switch points of view but it wasn't always clear who's POV we were reading. But not as bad as it has been in other books.

The h was quite immature. She called Neil ugly names. One time, she told him to do something g with his " fat a$$." She was talking where no one could hear her but it was still so immature. There were a lot of similar examples of saying rude things thinking it was cute, maybe. It really wasn't. My 18 year old daughter and 16 year old son are more mature than her. They also make more rational decisions.

The story absolutely did not fly by. I had to force myself to finish reading it. I did hope to at least be rewarded with some passionate scenes but there were none of those. The ending was severely lacking.

I REALLY wanted to love this book and author. I was hopeful I had found a new author to read and was thinking I would have a lot of books lined up to read but no. It really is a shame. I liked some of her constructs. Her ability to force others to do what she wanted psychically was really cool. I like series that have fated mates. Though the author refers to them as their natural mate. I did not like basically what was a caste system in how thy dealt with the pack. They could only become a pack member if they went through basic training. Then they were ranked and could only have jobs based on that ranking. At least it wasn't a system set on wealth.

I will not be reading the rest of this series and will be avoiding this author.

The first book in the Sons of the Alpha series is feisty and energetic story that holds readers hostage throughout. The characters are strong, compelling and ensures that readers will want to know more while the hero and heroine demand the reader’s attention stays focused on them. Alexia and Neil have some serious chemistry flowing between them and has sparks flying in every direction with some heated clashes and passionate encounters. Their relationship is anything but smooth due to quite a few obstacles, differences of opinion, kidnappings and alpha male stubbornness and female determination.

The story is fast paced and flows smoothly throughout with lots of thrilling suspense, spirited attitudes and adrenaline pumping danger. The story has several different major things going on at once as Alexia in introduced to her new world and a father that she didn’t know existed while a rival pack wants her for several other reasons, shifters are being hunted, kidnapped and tortured, and hunters that would like to get their hands on Alexia for some disturbing and maniacal plans. The author has created a fascinating world full of intriguing characters that easily draw readers into their world while surprising twists and betrayals keeps readers on their toes and ensures that there is never a dull moment to be found throughout this thrilling and energetic story.

I love shifter books, and this one didn't disappoint! It held true to many tropes of the genre, but also threw in so many unique twists and turns that one surprise after another kept popping up, and once you hit the middle of the book, you'd better not have anything planned because you won't be able to stop. I've reread a good portion of the beginning and I'm seeing better how all of this fits together and having "Oh yeah, I totally see that now" moments. It's really fun. Also, I love Neil. He's a great Alpha male. Strong, dominant, yet gentle when the need calls for it. Alexia is stubborn, so stubborn, but it makes for some great chemistry between the two. The side characters are a blast. Can't wait for the next book! I also loved how it was a clean read. There was enough steam and tension to keep it all interesting and gripping, but I loved that there wasn't graphic sexual content. It didn't need it for the love story to be amazing. This is an amazing read you won't want to miss! And it's definitely reread worthy, which is always how I know a book is good. If I can finish and reread it right after, I know it's good. And like I said, I started rereading. Happy reading!

Wow, what a way to start off a series. This book will pull you in from the beginning and hold your attention till the end. The pull between the characters is amazing. The author does a fantastic job describing the scene and the characters. I can picture myself right there with the characters. The story is full of suspense, action, amazing chemistry. I can't get enough of Alexia and Neil. Looking forward to sink my teeth into the next installment in this series. A must read.

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
Knight: Sons of the Alpha by Addison Carmichael is a paranormal romance. Some people are following Alexa. She's going through alleyways to lose them, but comes to a dead end. As those people are closing in on her, "A knight in shining armor" saves her. The only thing is -- Neil Duran doesn't want to be a knight, especially her knight. Neil was on the verge of catching a criminal who was murdering their gifted pack members( having special powers) when the High alpha sends him to bring Alexa Raine to the pack.
The story follows Alexa as how she lives in the pack, with werewolves she didn't even know existed. With a murderer on the loose, her father's ex-pack claiming a right to her and her growing feelings towards Neil Duran, this novel had enough twists and turns.
The werewolf pack system was a little different from those I've read. Some things were predictable before they happened, but of all the people I had on the list for would-be-murderers, the real one didn't even come close. So that was a good element.
There will be a book 2 for the Neil's brother but I don't know when it will be out. I loved the blurb though and I'm looking forward to it!

4.5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️Amazing book!! I was immediately sucked into this story. I loved the world building and I appreciate the details about the were-beings; their abilities, the myths and facts. Which Made it easier for me to visualize everything and get a clear understanding of the characters and the world they live in. The plot was intriguing and I couldn’t wait to see how everything played out.

Alexia was such a cool character. She was equally sweet and hot tempered. A good old fashioned spitfire and I loved her for it. I especially admired her courage. She may be out of her depth but she refused to cower in fear, she was a fighter and didn’t take crap from anyone.

Neil was the brooding alpha male we all know and love. He could be incredibly charming or deathly scary. He and Alexia really balanced each other out though. He knew how to deal with her fiery spirit and she knew just how to get under his skin and counter his alpha moods. Their banters were really cute and super funny. Add Jake into the mix and I got stitches from laughing so hard.

This was a pleasant surprise. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Content: Clean, Innuendo throughout, Fade to black intimacy, Mild language, Moderate violence, Some gore.

I love my shifter books they are one of my favourites. I am loving this series. I can't wait for the next book. The story wastes no time in drawing you in and taking you on a journey. This book is a real page turner and I would have read it in one sitting if I could.

Alexia Raine’s life is turned upside down when she is captured and brought to a werewolf enclave where she learns the truth about her origins. She struggles to come to terms with it until events overtake her fears.

Neil Duran is the Alpha Four Enforcer for the Bryant Pack. His role is protecting Alexia, and he’s tasked with retrieving her from San Diego where she’s being stalked by another pack who want to abduct Alexia for the special abilities she possesses.

I highly recommend this book. If you have not read the prequel I suggest you read it first it is only a short story but you don't have to.

I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review.

I have a HUGE soft spot for werewolf shifter stories, so I've read a crap ton of them... and I'm hella glad I got my hands on a copy of this one. It has all the things that addict me: strong, complex characters; balanced but angsty intrigue; and a super compelling romance between the H and h. This author made magic with this book!

Just finished Addison Carmichael's first full book in her new series, and I can report that it was quite a ride! I fell in love with the characters and look forward to finding out more about them in the coming books. I was swallowed up by the world she created. It was, at times, heart-pounding, at times full of dreamy romance. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

It was on Booksprout that I discovered this title and its author. The summary having pleased me very much, I let myself be tempted by this ARC.

We are in a world where there are shifters and humans. In the Bit-Lit genre, one of my favorites.

I easily entered the story where I followed Alexia in her discovery of a world she did not know. I liked her very much because she has a strong character. She also has a flaw: she rushes headlong.
Neil seems impenetrable at first, a stubborn kind of guy, but we come to understand him little by little.
The only character who hasn't convinced me is Erik.

There is no sex scene but, as I have said for other books, it doesn't bother at all. Quite the contrary.

I was so immersed in the book that I read it almost in one go. I would have liked to know a little more, particulary on the "grade" that Alexia will have.

I will read the next book which will be with Jake. I just discovered that there is novella prequels which explains more certain things. I'll see if I can find them (=> found it).

DNF at 56% because the FMC is abrasive and rude. I came upon the final straw of her being seriously TSTL. I don’t like her. (Btw, saying, “I’m not a morning person” doesn’t excuse you for being a snot.) Sure, MMC was very heavy handed when he didn’t need to be, but the way she reacted to him (all the sneering, abrasive threats, refusing to wear a tracker when it was clearly the smart thing to do, etc) was just foreign to me. I have to relate to the FMC in order to truly enjoy a romance.

I recognized the bad guy right away, but she continues to distrust the people she should trust and vice versa.

⚠️ Trigger warning: Also, not cool that the MMC, Duran, has been having an affair with Jake’s fiancé, Eva. (FYI, the only on-page scene was when she was coming onto him and he broke up with her finally.) I do not condone cheating even if both parties (Eva and Jake) cheat. It’s just NOT OKAY. Have some integrity and self respect.

The writing is below average in quality.
Also, frequent mistakes like this:

“He offered some [ham] on her own [sandwich], then saw the disapproval on his face when she declined.”

Wow, this was a great book. I kept wanting to see what would happen next. This story has so much going on with a feisty Alexia, and Hardnose Neil and of course all the other characters. We have Neil Duran who is a High Alpha and is looking for who is taking their gifted. WE have Alexia who knows nothing of the supernatural world, until one day Neil comes for her. What will Alexia do when her world gets turned upside down? What will Neil do to follow his Alpha's orders or is it him wanting to do it? What is Neil really feeling? Follow along and see a ride of your life.

While I expected to like this book enough, black wolf protectors and all, there was a number of issues that just really bothered me:
- Personalities of main characters seem inconsistent and floating. They jump from one kind behavior to another in a way that doesn't feel natural. The heroine switches from acting like a reasonable young woman kidnapped out of her life and being hostile and suspicions, to suddenly being all accepting and understanding and kind to everyone, to suddenly playing at being lead detective on a case and having authority, to playing at girlfriends, to cuddling with a person and propositioning them to shut them out and down 5 mins later... and on and on. The hero only appears to be better because there is much less text in his POV, but his personality also felt like it turned over half way through. There’s also this ‘brainless’ disease I've seen a number of times before, where characters talk and act but pretend that they have no ability to analyze or comprehend why they are doing something and just exist in denial.
- A tad too much hate towards women. As in, it’s very hard to find a positive female character who is not dead. I half expected for Rachel to turn out to be the killer. Because the remaining female characters were a lying traitor who sold people out for money and an aggressive egocentric bitch who couldn't take no for an answer. A vivid contrast to a whole collection to attractive males who also all look like they are in their twenties regardless of their age and like the main character.
- The fact that people kept forgetting and ‘letting be’ the serial murderers they had to catch. The treatment of this part of the plot didn't seem appropriate, as it was constantly pushed behind something else, as if catching the murders before they killed again was far less important than a whole list of other things. Or at least that was the impression I got.
- While the 'twist' conclusion itself was not boring, something happened to writing on the last 20% where it turned jaw-numbingly cheesy and dry. The places that were supposed to make me swoon made me grimace. It's like suddenly there was something very unsavory about the tone of the book and it spoiled the conclusion. The bare facts of which, again, weren't actually bad on their own... there was just something about the way it all was presented.

Knight tells Alexia Raine and Neil Duran’s story the first book in the Sons of the Alpha series.

Alexia is a human and has no idea that strange things that go on in the world or that the shifter world exists. She has no idea that there are all kinds of shifters out there from wolves to bears to lions and so on. But her life is about to be turned upside.

Neil Duran just happens to be a werewolf and working on a case when his alpha pulls him from his case to go bring Alexia to their compound where they live that is like a city unto itself. Some of the packs most powerful wolves are being kidnapped and then turn up murdered. Neil was not to happy to be taken off his case and sent after Alexia even if she is the long lost daughter of one their most powerful wolves.

Neil finds Alexia as she is being attacked by another pack who want to kidnap her and use her for their own malicious reasons. After her meeting with Neil Alexia is awaken to whole new world one in which she had no idea existed.

Alexia’s world is about to change forever. At the wolf compound Alexia is about to learn a few things about herself and her mother that she never would have dreamed possible. Truths are about to be revealed to her that is going to forever change her life.

After reading Beauty and Her Beast the prequel to Knight I never imagined that the Sons of the Alpha could get it any better but I was so wrong. Knight was so much better than Beauty and Her Beast which I never thought it could be.

Knight has murder, mystery, suspense, love, betrayal, secrets and a new twist on the werewolf world. Knight is filled with big twist after big twist not to mention some of the turns it takes. Knight is a fast paced read that never slows down not even once. All the murder, mystery, suspense, love, betrayal, secrets and a new twist on the werewolf world keeps the pages turning right up until the end.

What an amazing ride this has been reading Alexia and Neil’s story. I can’t wait to see what or whose story we are going to read in the next book Heir the third book in the Sons of Alpha series.

If you like werewolves, shifters, paranormal, romance, mystery, suspense, secrets plus a whole lot more then I highly recommend Knight Sons of the Alpha book 1.

I enjoyed the world-building and basic plot, but I started having some issues with how the romantic issues and villainous plot developed in the latter half of the book.

I was happy that the main romantic couple didn't immediately fall in love with each other in the beginning upon meeting, but that took a quick turn after a traumatizing incident. One chapter they're still hating each other, and the next they're suddenly in bed and kissing. The FMC Alexia was irritatingly TSTL at points and couldn't see clues that were right in front of her face -- I wanted to just slap her sometimes at her dumb decisions and misplaced trust. And I didn't quite understand that if Alexia's father could , how the heck did the shifters not find out that The ending was also rather cheesy with the

Overall it was an entertaining action-packed read, but the plot holes were giant and hard to get over.
